When I decided to go to school and obtain my CDL and hit the road with my boyfriend. I received a lot and I mean a lot of negative feedback from my friends and family. They thought a prissy lady would not adjust to the 180 degree turn-around. They constantly said I would be bored and long to get back into the office. So, just to let you all know it is not at all boring. Everyday brings new places, people and challenges. A few days ago I was driving thru Elk Mountain Pass in Wyoming. It was icy with strong winds and small snow flurries. I saw several cars, trucks and 18 wheelers in the ditch and on their side. I stayed very focused on my driving as the adrenaline was rushing, my goal was to get through this safely being a new driver I certainly was NOT BORED. Later they closed the road down where I had been driving. Wayne was proud of how I handled the situation and remained as cool as one could be under the circumstances. I think my upbring in Minnesota and experience in driving during snowstorms and even blizzards came in handy. Although, I must say driving an 18 wheeler is a lot different than a car. Please drive safely this Thanksgiving Holiday. Winter weather has definitely arrived.

1Congrats on your new career. I can see how it would be an interesting adventure. I think about driving a big rig myself every once-in-awhile. I’m probably too old now, and I’ve got a bad back–so maybe not. But enjoy your adventure. Take lots of pictures and keep on bloggin’!
