Colorado changed their chain laws so we have to start carrying chains starting on the 1st of September, now I know why.

Elk Mountain Pass by CindyI was driving for my second time through Elk Mountain Pass in Wyoming yesterday. The first time was before Thanksgiving and several trucks were turned over in the ditch. This time I didn't see any but the left lane was very icy. 1The snow was all melted when I came through. I usually stop at the “commercial truck parking” across from the snow equipment shed. It isn’t as scenic as the rest area, but it is quick in and out.
