The Good and the Bad

These are the good and the bad between Tok, Ak and Anchorage. About 18 miles of construction, which means dirt road, which we shared with the heavy equipment running back and forth.

We delivered in Anchorage and instead of driving home empty, we now have a load from Anchorage to Arizona. Bad news: we don’t pick it up until the 12th. Good news is – we don’t pick it up till the 12th! Ten days in Alaska. The company where we are getting our load from is Graebel Van Lines! We drove to the Graebel office in Palmer (about 40 miles from Anchorage) and dropped the trailer. There are no truck stops in Anchorage (that we could find) and a room in Anchorage  starting at $130 a night.was out of the question unless it was only for one or two nights.

Cindy had the idea of, "why couldn’t we stay at an RV park? We’ve got this big RV!" RV parks have showers and restrooms. The weather is so nice we don’t have to idle, even at night. We’ve got all this food and TV…  Next door to the Graebel office in Palmer was an RV park. While I went in to the office to check in, Cindy went next door and gets an RV spot. They even charged us the "dry dock" rate. Since we don’t have plumbing. We may hook into the electric for the microwave and TV though. At $80 for the week. With a pretty fast WIFI hotspot too!

This is too cool! We’re set for the week for less than a night in a hotel. Nice showers and restrooms close by and only a few strange looks as we drove the tractor through the small park. We are going to take today and tomorrow to relax and check out things to do. Will probably get a car for a few days and check out the area. Fuel is $2.50 for diesel and I don’t really want to bobtail (tractor only) everywhere.
