Image_mapWe’ve been getting a few team loads here and there, but this will be the longest and the hardest we’ve had to drive. It’s for a whole lot of money so, we are going to give it our best shot. We are going to be one of 24 teams picking up parts of a trade show in San Diego, CA. After each truck is loaded, we have 48 hours to reach the Orlando Convention Center, about 2600 miles away. Possible, but no time to mess around. It’s usually a shorter trip, but since I-10 is still underwater, my best guess would be driving I-20 to Atlanta, then south. It’s all interstate since I’m unsure of the status of some of the smaller highways in Mississippi and Alabama. With fuel prices and more importantly fuel shortages in that part of the country it’s going to be an interesting trip. I’m going to ask around and see how the other teams are going to route their trip, maybe even hook up with someone to drive with.

After the tradeshow is over in Orlando, the trucks that took it out there have first chance to take it back to LA. Which I think we are going to do. Take a few days off and recover then have a nice trip back west. The return trip won’t pay as much, but it will still be pretty good and won’t have the time constraint.

We’ve had a couple of days off at the apartment, so we’ll be ready and rested. Preparing meals in advance, stocking the fridge, a couple of new audio books and I also finished installing both XM and Sirius satellite radios. I think we’ll be ready to roll.
