I’m still home after 15 days. A little more than I expected, but when the truck was in for some minor repairs, I was called and told I needed a new clutch. At least it’s under warranty but it wasn’t going to be shipped for 5 days because of some back-orders. I paid for overnight so when it is shipped there won’t be any delay. Hopefully, the clutch comes in today and I can get back on the road Monday or Tuesday.

After taking this much time off, it’s going to be hard to go back to work. Cindy goes to work everyday, most for only half day and only two full time days. While she’s at work, I’ll clean the kitchen or do stuff around the house. Me and Willie will take a walk to the dog park that’s about a mile away from the house and then walk back.

Willie’s Dog Park Adventure

Willie loves the dog park! Probably a little too much. It’s tough to grab him when it’s time to go home. It’s going to be sad when we’re back in the truck and he can’t go. But I’m sure it will give the other dogs a break from his pestering to try and get them to chase him.

It’s pretty funny watching him run around, when he gets another dog to chase him, he’ll run around the entire dog park, if it’s a fast dog that’s catching up, he’ll kick it into overdrive and go even faster. He’s usually the fastest little dog there. Once in awhile people will have their big dogs in the little dog area, then he has to make sharp turns or go around people or under the picnic tables so he won’t get caught.

There have been two times where he runs and has had big dogs really try and catch him and start biting him on the butt. One time he was heading for where we were sitting, he was crying as he was running and as soon as he came by at full speed I scooped him up and kept him away from the other dogs, we left after that. There was one other time when we left after a few minutes because too many big dogs were in the small dog area.

Writing

During all my spare time, I’ve been writing a lot and trying to come up with even more to write. Trying out new programs and working on improving both Life on the Road and Adventures in Trucking. I’ve pretty much given up on Truckingblog.net, I’ve got most of the popular posts redirected to Life on the Road and if I write anything it should go on Life on the Road so, I haven’t updated Truckingblog for quite awhile. My plan of doing the same thing on Truckingblog.net like we’re doing on Life on the Road with different authors, but having it about trucking in different countries hasn’t really worked very well. I’ve got a few, but that’s about it.

University of Phoenix

I’m almost signed up with the University of Phoenix. I went in with Cindy when she had to go in and discuss her upcoming classes and I talked to her counselor about starting even though I’m still going cross-country. So, now I’m waiting for my records from the Army so I can get a few credits to get started. Then I can take some of the first and second year classes online or just study and test out, to get those out of the way. When Cindy gets a job in her field, I can either find a driver for the truck and trailer and deal with that nightmare or just sell them. Work part time and finish school. I’m still a little undecided on exactly what I want to do and even fewer ideas about what I want to do when I’m done and get a job doing it.
