We’re on our way from Austin to Atlanta for Monday morning. Dispatch is looking at several loads going west. And we’re getting things ready for the wedding Thanksgiving weekend. Last week when we were waiting to get loaded for FOUR days, we had some interesting conversations with other drivers. Two teams from a company that had climate controlled moving vans that hauled a lot of art and museum pieces, very interesting stories. We also met "Yoda", from the Trucking Bozo radio show, the one I don’t listen to anymore. Graebel Van Lines Special Commodities (our former employer) sent a truck, now that was an interesting conversation! Hearing about the personnel changes and how things hadn’t really changed at all and we’re still glad we left. And last but not least, there’s always one idiot in the group and if I can spot him, I know it’s not me. This guy was the typical trucker that thought we should strike for fuel prices and "show America how important we are!" Trying to remain calm, I explained his misguided ways, not sure if it sunk in or not. If we hadn’t have just come off of a week’s break the wait wouldn’t have been so bad. But we’re driving and getting reloads in the same city on the same day, so we’re doing fine.
