Last night about 7:00 pm, Wayne decided he wanted to tackle the mountains tonight and then I would start driving first thing in the morning. We had several problems with the truck today but still on the road after road service came out at 100 per hour and primed the fuel pump and then it started and we were ready to go again, after paying $145. He did show Wayne how to prime the pump and said most likely the fuel pump will not last long. Anyway we were 1/4 mile from the Eisenhower Tunnel with wind, snow and ice upon us when a siren when off and a red stop light and a man came out of a small building with a large stick and waved us over to the side. I looked at Wayne and I asked ” what is going on?” He looked over at me and said I don’t know I never had this happen before. The man measured our truck and trailer as we couldn’t be over 13′6″ to use the tunnel. He said we need to let the air out of the tractor suspension and drive slowly through the tunnel. Of course stopping in
the snow we had a little trouble trying to get traction to get going. Wayne drove until 1:30 am after going slow through all the snow, rain and ice. Today the weather is much better only a few rainy area’s.
