Yeah right! I’m trying this out for my other site Life on the Road. We’re going to have a round table discussion group about what’s going on in the trucking industry. Adventures is my test bed to try things out before they go onto the Life on the Road site.

For now, what looks like the easiest way to go is by using a free service called Talkshoe.com It’s easy to setup for a simple podcast or to have people call in and discuss things like a conference call that can be recorded and downloaded. This is the option we are going to start with on Life on the Road.

Talkshoe also has a format that’s more like a radio call in show. You have your podcast and people call dial in and listen and participate on the phone or the computer and be able to send Instant Messages to the host and the host has control over who talks and who doesn’t. It’s really pretty cool and someday when we have a big enough audience, we might go that route.

The quality isn’t as good as it can be without a lot of software and remixing being involved. I don’t want to get into that right now. Instead of spending a lot of time and money getting broadcast quality audio, we’re going to go for quality content and fix the audio at a later time when we decide this is going to be something we want to do.

Since I hate my own voice and can’t put two thoughts together without hesitating, a podcast probably is not going to happen on a permanent basis for Adventures in Trucking. Maybe on special occasions. We’ll see.
