<description>This is sooo true!. Everything is more congested, even at night. Let them merge around me.
I try to be courteous, but still .... sometimes other people just don't think it through.

Keep up the good blogging.
Happy Trucking
God Bless!

<description>Man thank you for that! How hard is it to understand the concept of M-E-R-G-I-N-G onto a highway?! When I first started trucking a million years ago, I would pull over every time a vehicle headed down the on-ramp to make it easier for them. And like you said, about half the time I would get trapped out there in the hammer lane slowing down the big dogs. It seems like other truckers are particularly guilty of leaving you hanging out there.

I don't do it much anymore -- pull over to let them merge, that is. Over time my attitude has generally become "figure it out, Cooter" as I watch to see what they will do. This doesn't include the split speed-limit states. There my attitude is pretty much set in stone. If it's a four-wheeler on the ramp and we are the only two vehicles in a 20 mile radius I will not pull over for them. I figure they can go 70mph while I can only go 55. They can figure it out. Or not. I don't much care either way.
