Orlando to San Diego

With an ice storm to dodge in Texas. We left Orlando one week ago and needed to be in San Diego this morning to unload. We had to go 150 miles out of our way to avoid ice and snow that closed Hwy 10 in Texas. We are now in San Diego waiting for another load. Trucking seems to be slow so we are keeping our fingers crossed that we will reload somewhere close by tomorrow. We were able to stay with my brother and family while in Orlando and in San Diego visit with Wayne’s dad and my sister and her family. Good News as my niece is engaged to a very nice young man and the Wedding will be around Valentines Day 2008.

Time to Load in Orlando

We arrived at the Convention Center last night and checked in. After Wayne talked to a few other drivers we went to sleep while we still could awaiting the knock at the door saying its your time to load. That didn't happen until the following morning at 7:00 am.

End of the Day

We nicknamed this last trip the Cannonball Run, but it's not really a race and we drive the speed limit. But like the Cannonball Run, we are one big happy family and we have a good time. We see some of the same faces from the last trip. There were

Back to Work

The perfect title for this would be "Back on the Road Again", but I'm pretty sure we've used that before. We are back to work. After our large computer customer "rescheduled" their trip, we took the first decent trip that came up. Cindy is at her brother's house to visit

Happy Holidays

We arrived home (Las Vegas) late in the afternoon on Sunday, Christmas Day. Just 48 hours prior to that we had left Pen Argle, Pennsylvannia. Since this was a team run we had no time to stop in Kansas or Minnesota to celebrate Christmas with our families.

Going to Orlando again

This will be a nice run as we only need to do 800 miles a day. We are leaving Sunday morning and once we unload in Orlando we need to load for a trip back to Las Vegas. We have managed to stay out of the winter weather so far

wow cindy..this is so cool..i have never even been in a big truck…
my trucker is drew, andrew, he hauls paper. from detroit atlanta tennesse and i don’t where else….he wants me to go with him during my spring break. i’m a teacher. his site is tbhj_1 can you look at him and tell me if you r your husband know him…thank you

I wish you the best and congrats are in order for your niece.

I helped develop a “truck route planner”, just google those words and it is at the bottom of page 1 on google. I did it for a site called trucker to trucker. It includes route 10 and it would be great to get any comments from you as to its’ usefulness if you have time.

Meanwhile, I wish you the best and was sorry to hear about the detour you had to take, but you made it there safely and that is good news.

Please teach me/us!! My husband&I have just retired
30&35yrs law enforcement/RN We want a second career thought trucking would be it but the company his training with is busting his butt with no down time. Whats up? He’s got every endorsements except school bus. He’s taught defensive
driving for officers. The pay is not by actual miles but book the dispatcher has please enlighten me. We’d like to make a living at this. What do we need to do?
