We dropped off the exhibit at the Boston Museum of Science this morning and headed out to New York. Our little museum tour is over for now, most of the museums seem to be old buildings that were built long before big trucks. Los Angeles had the only dock we could get into and even then I had to back blind side into. Chicago was a zig-zag from the interstate to the museum dodging low bridges and no-truck routes and at Boston I had to blind side back into a dark parking garage. Phoenix had a dock but it was either blind side on a busy street or what I did was u-turn go down the wrong way and backed in before the light changed. It was still a lot of fun. The best part was parking in the museum parking lots the night before or during the day in Chicago, so quiet and very peaceful. We’ve really spoiled ourselves. We haven’t had to idle the truck or even use the generator (which is broke anyway) for a month, so when we pull into a truck stop it amazes and annoys us when someone next to us is idling. You would think at $3.00 a gallon, no one would idle, but they still do, even in the best of weather.
Now we’re picking up some Audio Visual stuff for a trade show in Orlando then hopefully back to Vegas. We haven’t been home in over a month. Money was okay last month, we’ve done the same amount of money before and been home for a week. We had to layover a couple of times so we could be available for something else, like the Museums and now this trade show where the office wants us to pick up at this customer ourselves and not have to broker it out the first time. So we go in, impress the customer (who will be meeting us in Orlando) and then head for home!
