It’s great being home right now. Fall and Winter are the best times to be in Vegas. The days and even the nights have been great. Cindy has been working hard at school and we’re looking at upgrading our little portable printer to a laserjet because of all the printing she has been doing. The University of Phoenix has most of their text books online and it’s easier to read on paper instead of the screen all the time. What we’re saving on textbooks we’ll spend on a decent printer.
We just got back from taking Willie to his first dog park. There is a large and really nice park close by with everything from roller hockey, skate board areas, softball fields, pool, rec center and two dog parks. I was worried at first, especially when we went through the gate, there was a dog that had to let Willie know who was boss, but after that tense moment, Willie ran off to play with the other dogs. His favorite thing in the whole world is to be chased. He loves to chase and be chased. He was the fastest dog in the park today. He has a tendency to harass other dogs trying to get them to chase him, but other than that, he was perfect. He played nice, ran around and wore himself out.
I am so glad not to be driving right now. Four weeks is too long to be away. I was getting too stressed and when I got close, the dispatcher was still coming up with things to do. I finally gave up trying to explain and just said, “No, I’m not doing it”. I was tired of trying to explain to these people that are home every day and every night and every weekend. And now that the company is getting a little bigger, I’m getting more micro-managed, filling out more paperwork so they can keep track of more of my paperwork. But since they lose paperwork too easily, they have to come up with something. Since the problem is on their end, the solution should be on their end (but that’s just me), not making me do more of their work. And then there are all the phone calls, two, sometimes three calls from different people sitting right next to each other asking me the exact same question. For someone that is used to being left alone and not calling unless there’s a problem, this drives me up a wall!
The truck is in the shop, the trailer is in a secured area next to the shop. I’m not going to see it or the office till at least Thursday, maybe longer. Another weekend would be nice, but I’m not sure I can last that long with no money coming in. We’ll see.
