At last, I’m on my way back to Vegas, sort of. Not really the route I wanted, but it added some more money to the trip. Instead of straight from Atlanta to Vegas like it started out to be, it was changed from Atlanta, to Vegas, to Reno. Then I picked up an LTL on top of this truckload for Denver.
I’m sitting in Denver now waiting for Monday morning to unload three giant hula-hoops for some kind of Magnetic company. There are three 10ft diameter, hard plastic rings. I’m sure there’s something more special than that, but that’s all I know, but it paid really well because they needed the extra tall trailer.
After tomorrow, it’s through the Rockies to Vegas. Colorado has changed their chain laws, requiring chains be carried starting Sept 1st. I think I have one pair, but that’s it till I get back to the warehouse and pick up some more of my pads along with the tire chains. I really, really hate winter.
I already have a pick up in Reno, but it goes to Southern California. There might be a trip to Vegas, but things have changed because of several accidents at the Air Show where I’m one of three trucks picking up tents, booths, chairs and things like that. I don’t know the details, but I’m sure if they were fatalities it would have made the national news. It’s either an air show or an air race in Reno, I’m not sure.
At least the Flying J in Denver has several industrial parks behind it where me and Willie went for a long walk. It was mostly deserted back in there so we had the place to ourselves. After his initial excitment of getting out of the truck, he does pretty good. And even when he gets wild he doesn’t pull on the leash as much, he runs around in circles like a madman, but he doesn’t go straight and try to yank his little head off. It looks horrible, but he doesn’t do that so much anymore. Plus I bought him a 26 foot retractable leash, so he’s got more room. He could have a 100 foot leash and he would want to use every foot of it. He definitely likes to run and chase stuff. Birds, butterflies, paper, sticks, anything.
