Work with Willie Weekend

During a moment of anxiety. Originally uploaded by Adventures In Trucking Holy Cow! Is it hot and humid in Houston! We woke up this morning and took Willie for walk and it was like walking through a steam room. Everything we’ve read says Willie’s separation anxiety doesn’t get better with time. Our load that was going to keep us moving, canceled. We are probably here for at least the weekend. Whatever his problem is may not be from separation, since he goes nuts even when one of us is sitting right next to him. Then he started going nuts when [...More...]

Northern Route

In case your not checking out Life on the Road, you need to see the pictures of the new International Truck the LoneStar. I-90 out of Seattle isn’t my favorite road during the winter. From Seattle I go east to Minnesota to Ohio to South Carolina. To get there I had to throw chains on once over Snoqualmie pass. I almost threw chains on over Lookout Pass in Montana, but about half the trucks were and half weren’t. Plus the signs only said, “Chains Advised” not Required. The road had some snow, but no ice, so it wasn’t too bad. [...More...]

Organ Transplant

Church next to Probate court I have no idea what the name of this church is. It was built in the early 1800′s and is next to the Probate court on Federal St. in Salem, MA. The church is being moved about 50 feet because of some kind of eminent domain and will be used by the court. Originally uploaded by Adventures In Trucking It’s been awhile since I’ve posted some pictures. Mainly because things have been fairly routine and you don’t want to see the scenery of a truck stop. I’m picking up a Pipe Organ in Salem, MA. [...More...]

Canada Bound

After a little more than two days at home (Las Vegas) we are off again. We will leave this afternoon for Reno and after loading in the morning we are off to New Brunswick. For those who have never been there like me, it is a little over 3400 miles from Reno on the Northeast part of Canada. That sounds a little cold to me as the weather here is in the 70′s and sunny. Better make sure we have our boots and warm clothes!!

At last, I’m on my way back to Vegas, sort of. Not really the route I wanted, but it added some more money to the trip. Instead of straight from Atlanta to Vegas like it started out to be, it was changed from Atlanta, to Vegas, to Reno. Then I picked up an LTL on top of this truckload for Denver. I’m sitting in Denver now waiting for Monday morning to unload three giant hula-hoops for some kind of Magnetic company. There are three 10ft diameter, hard plastic rings. I’m sure there’s something more special than that, but that’s all [...More...]

For the past several weeks we have been on the East Coast. We are currently in Minnesota and heading Southeast to Florida. We had been in Florida for quite some time earlier this month and the best part was meeting up with my brother and his family. The worst part was looking for a load to get out of Florida which we finally found but barely paid for the fuel. So this time when they asked us to take a load to Florida, Wayne declined. The money was good but to get out of Florida we know it will not [...More...]
