During a moment of anxiety. Originally uploaded by Adventures In Trucking Holy Cow! Is it hot and humid in Houston! We woke up this morning and took Willie for walk and it was like walking through a steam room. Everything we’ve read says Willie’s separation anxiety doesn’t get better with time. Our load that was going to keep us moving, canceled. We are probably here for at least the weekend. Whatever his problem is may not be from separation, since he goes nuts even when one of us is sitting right next to him. Then he started going nuts when [...More...]
Here’s more Willie. You would think we would have more pictures of the little squirt, because he’s so cute, he’s always attracting attention from everyone. I’ve got a few videos of him, but they came out so dark and unfocused, it might be me or the cheap video camera. Plus I wanted to figure out how to put captions under the pictures, so this might change a few times. Until I remembered about Flickr. Most of our pictures end up there anyway and looks like the automatic posting works from flickr. I never thought they looked that great but at [...More...]
A little boring as we are staying in the truck for a few days while waiting for our freight that we delivered to Texas A&M on Wednesday morning. We will be returning it to California after we reload on Saturday. Since trucking has been slow we are not looking for a hotel to park the truck. We will stay in the truck and take lots of walks with Willie. We found a Mexican Restaurant next door and we had some strawberry margaritas and dinner. I wish we would have brought the TV and some DVD’s but books, word puzzles and [...More...]
The Gaudette Monster Truck sitting in center field. Originally uploaded by Adventures In Trucking After visiting family, it’s always nice to get back into our own routine. We might have a load tomorrow and we may not. But our home truck is back from the shop and ready to get back to work. We had a blast with the kids at the BMX races in Isanti, there were older kids and really older kids racing. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was a lot of fun. Willie was a handful with a house full of kids, another dog [...More...]
He’s got to wear that for five days. Originally uploaded by Adventures In Trucking So much for my last post about how one Vet said he might have a liver shunt. After all of my research we went and got a second opinion. The new Vet wasn’t concerned at all. He said the one reading from the blood test that was high, wasn’t high enough and another reading wasn’t high at all. We took him in at 7am and we were told he would be ready to pick up at 3:30. When Cindy got a call around noon it was [...More...]

I listen to too much radio. Not just radio, but news and talk radio. Music channels on XM and Sirius are commercial free, I think they make up for it on news and talk channels. There’s one commercial that starts out with a child screaming the dog keeps jumping on her. The mom says, “People stare at us like we can’t control our dog.” Take a pill, not you, the dog. Now there’s Valium for dogs. Calm your dog for those special occasions or feed your dog a pill every day to keep him calm. Willie gets wild, but usually [...More...]
I’m still alive. I did make it home for a week and am now back on the road. Six weeks is too long to be away from home. I start getting tired. Not sleepy tired, more like – sick and tired. Everything and everyone start pissing me off for no reason. It’s not like I didn’t have enough ‘downtime’. Had plenty of time to sit around, always had plenty of time to sleep. Just sick and tired is the best way I can explain it. I was glad to be home for a week. I planned on doing taxes while [...More...]
Crime Scene Las Vegas We woke up to this violent crime scene in our living room. Bear guts everywhere, his squeaker had been ripped out through his chest. We’re waiting for CSI to arrive. Surveillance A suspect is caught on tape. Awaiting Bond It’s Christmas Willie was released on his own recognizance and given another chance with another Christmas present., originally uploaded by Adventures In Trucking.
I now have a load going to California, but it doesn’t load until Tuesday. It’s a hurry up and get there. I topped off the fuel tanks today so I don’t have to mess with that for a few days. I left the Petro in Bordentown to go south fifty miles to get fuel in southern New Jersey. Fuel at the Petro was $3.68 and fifty miles away is $3.139. Even though I have to back-track to go north to Pennsylvania it was worth it. Plus, that Idleaire thing gets expensive at about $1.50 an hour it adds up. At [...More...]
