At least I’m driving and the truck is running good. I’m picking up furniture in Bend, OR going to a new golf course near Palm Springs, CA. There are two ways to go - I could go the shortest way (and most scenic) deal with long windy two lane roads and small towns or get to the interstate and go through big cities including LA and see the burned out tunnel near LA.

I’d rather take the scenic route any day, but 1000 miles is a long way on mostly two lane and some divided highway. I’d probably get better fuel mileage and make better time on the interstate. But I’m so sick of traffic. Sick of too many cars, too many trucks and too many construction zones.
Tentatively I’m scheduled to pick up some trade show stuff in Kingman, AZ going to Boston, MA. Find some trips nearby, three or four days later, pick the same stuff up in Boston take it back to Kingman and maybe take the same stuff to Chicago. A good plan, but too much waiting time if some short trips don’t come through on the east coast.
I’d like to get text to wrap around the google map, but I can’t figure out how to do it yet.

1I would of took I5 up to route 97 up through Oregon then onto route 58 back to I-5 but in the mean time I would of took a break by the hot springs at mile post 45 on route 58 for a couple of hours. The hot springs are out doors and are free they have 3 different pools. Nice and relaxing any way that up there is good driving country. spike

2It’s only 20 miles out-of-route to go over to 395 and miss the entire LA area. Might be worth it.
